Clinical Studies

Unicompartmental Knee Replacement
Current study
People who have condylar damage on just one side of the knee often are candidates for unicompartmental knee replacement. Currently Dr. Whiteside is evaluating the clinical effectiveness of partial joint surface replacement in his patients to refine a unicompartmental design that removes less bone and ligament structures in arthritic knees, preserves more normal joint function, and allows smaller operations.

Total Knee Replacement in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
Current study
Total knee replacement in people with rheumatoid arthritis is the focus of a clinical study currently underway and in cooperation with European surgeons. The effectiveness of fixing total knee replacement components without cement will be determined in this multicenter study.
